Steven W. Federspiel, Enrolled Agent – Senior Accountant

Steve has been with Padgett since November, 2010.

Steve has worked three and a half years as the Chief Accountant at a long-term care pharmacy. During his time at the pharmacy, he managed all accounting functions of the company.

Steve has been an Enrolled Agent since 2014. He is licensed by the Department of Treasury to practice before the IRS. In doing so, he represents the interests of clients and their companies in dealing with the IRS issues and concerns.

Steve received his Bachelors in Accounting from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. Steve was an active member of the accounting society Beta Alpha Psi, and he was on the Dean’s List.

Amy M. Zimbo, CPA – Senior Accountant

Amy joined Padgett in November, 2017.

Amy joins us with years of experience at BDO, Plante Moran and in the private sector, Pulte Group and Thyssenkrupp USA, Inc. Her background focuses on taxes for all entity types.

Amy will be assigned accounting clients and work with us also on the tax side. Her expertise is a great addition to our Padgett Business team. Amy looks forward to assisting clients.

Amy is knowledgeable in German after receiving a degree in German from U of M. She then obtained a Master’s Degree in Accountancy, magna cum laude from Walsh College.

Amy lives in Rochester with her husband and two daughters.

Brenda C. Pearson – Senior Accountant

Brenda has been with Padgett since May, 2011.

Brenda is an experienced accounting professional with a background encompassing more than twenty years in public and private sector accounting. She is skilled in payroll management, full cycle accounting through financial statement preparation and taxation.

Brenda’s career began in the banking industry, working as a retirement account specialist. She then established a small accounting and payroll business in which she provided services for several small companies. In 1993, she joined Paul P. Baker and Company, a CPA firm in Troy, as a staff accountant where she worked until 2005. During this time, she assisted in the preparation of tax returns, besides the compilation of financials and payroll reports.

She became the first controller at Michigan Neurology Associates, PC in 2006, setting up their complete in-house accounting system; she also established a system of internal financial controls and implemented an automated internet based payroll system. In 2010, Brenda sought to devote more time to her artistic endeavors and elected to return to her role as an accountant and business consultant, catering to the small business community.

In addition to her business career, Brenda has been active in the arts and crafts industry for many years, teaching classes at local art shops and selling her artwork at local venues. She currently has a gallery within the Yellow Door Artist Market in Berkley.

Brenda received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University and a Master’s degree in Professional Accountancy from Walsh College.

Sandy Daenzer – Bookkeeper

Please join us in welcoming Sandy Daenzer. Sandy will be assisting us with her Bookkeeping expertise. She spent fifteen years as the Bookkeeper for Home Town Plumbing Heating and Cooling Supply. During this time she became a QuickBooks Pro. She has expertise in all areas of Accounting. Sandy studied at Oakland University and Michigan State.

Terri L. Rogers – Office Manager

Terri has been with Padgett since 1999.

Since joining Padgett in 1999, Terri has learned many things about the Padgett operation and has moved into many areas of the company as needed over the years. Terri oversees the data entry area and general office activities. She assists with compilation for many clients.

She has an Associate Degree enhanced with additional accounting and tax courses over the years. Prior to her commitment to Padgett, she worked for 14 years in the banking industry.

Denise S. Ballard – Executive Assistant

Denise joined Padgett in 2016.

Denise came to Padgett with fifteen years of experience as an administrative assistant and Tax Processor supporting a Fortune 500 CPA firm. Denise assists with Tax Resolutions client cases, E-filing of Corporate and Individual Tax Returns and New Client set-up.

Maria Mitchelson – Bookkeeper, Payroll Specialist

Maria joined Padgett in 2016.

Maria was previously a Paralegal for a law firm in Rochester Hills. Prior to that she had experience as a Property Manager for a local property complex and she was an Administrative Assistant for New Haven Community Schools.

In 2016, Maria began studies in accounting and bookkeeping. She is striving towards an Associate’s degree in 2018.

Julie A. Malloy – Senior Administrative Assistant

Julie joined Padgett in 2011.

Julie came to us with fourteen years of experience as an administrative assistant with a CPA firm. This position was very similar to her work at Padgett, providing administrative support to a CPA and three accountants. She spent the previous thirteen years as a Senior Administrator in Accounting at IBM, where she was responsible for expenses and accounts payable for several states and supervised a staff of four.

Sue Monaco – Administrative Assistant

Sue joined Padgett in 2016.

Sue joins us from a local manufacturing company working as an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant. Prior to this she spent twenty-five years working for a travel company also as Office Manager/Executive Administrative Assistant.
